Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics has helped lead her team in the U.S. to victory in both 2012 as well as in the year 2016. She has won six Olympic medals all over the world, and was a member of two gold-medal winning World Championships teams. She is a native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's love for the sport is traced to the "mommy and me" gymnastics class she took at the age of 18 months. Aly Raisman has been a champion of body positivity and an exemplary leader on and off-the-floor and spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman was born in 1994 and began her gymnastic career at an early age. She was a part of the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. The following year she was awarded two gold medals--one in the team event and one in the individual floor exercise--and a bronze medal on the beam at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman won silver in both the floor and individual finals of the 2016 Olympics at Rio. Additionally, she brought home the gold medal from the team gymnastics contest. Raisman confessed in 2017 she was sexually abused by her former team physician Larry Nassar. The following year, she filed an action against USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
